Project Description
The 14/28 complex was originally designed and built as a temporary reasearch facility in 1957 and is beyond its useful life. Over the years, select equipment and/or building systems have been upgraded or replaced. However, the complex is failing and becoming difficult and costly to maintain and operate in its current degraded state. Furthermore, the 14/28 complex utilities and available spaces, as designed, do not sufficiently meet current research requirements.
The Center of Disease Research will provide up-to-date animal care facilities and address the need and desire for the adjacency to laboratory research. APR was retained to perform cost estimating and reconciliation at the final concept stage.
